Under the influence the Trade Winds

The island of Gran Canaria boasts a constant, mild climate throughout the year, more so perhaps than its geographical location would normally allow, thanks to its so called “Canary air currents”. This, combined with the effect of the predominating Trade Winds, contributes to the island being able to provide, all at the same time, both gentle coastal regions to the south, and breezy and choppy seas to the north, extending to even extremely windy areas. This means Gran Canaria is always ready to offer ideal conditions for anyone to do any kind of sea sports they wish.
